A4/V2 BOOK SECTION ; BOOK REVIEWS As usual i'll try to add to this section as I come across new material
The photo journal of the second world war Issue No.1 ALLIED- AXIS This is an excellent book. It contains 27pages of b/w photo's of the British Operation "Backfire" just after the end of the war, german pow's are showing the British how the fueling and launching sequence was done. Lots of clear photo's of vehicles and many close up shots and great source of reference for modellers. It was out of print for a bit and I had a hard time getting a copy but thankfully it is back in stock.
V2 Aufbruch zur Raumfahrt WAFFEN ARSENAL This is another really nice book 48 pages with b/w photo's following the beginning of the V programme. I picked up the German version but there is also a version with English text many nice pictures giving a good idea of the launching. A good book to have
V Missiles of the Third Reich V1 & V2 A great book with a pretty comprehensive text covering the whole V1 and V2 history. And a load of good b/w pictures throughout as well as some colour plates
REPORT ON OPERATION "BACKFIRE" MINISTRY OF DEFENCE There is one book of information that to me is secton to none for enthusiasts of the A4/V2 and that is the Backfire report. It is a complete record of the whole procedure of transporting, fueling and firing the V2 and covers in depth all the vehicles and accessories involed as well as a complete breakdown of the V2 components. If you get a chance of a copy take it.
